Learn all about money and the basics of savings as our staff reads books about money, saving, spending & budgeting - all told in kid-friendly stories.

Three Coins for Theo - read by Tia

This story is for our littlest members ages 3-.6 It teaches about Spending, Saving & Sharing. In this short story, kids will hear about little Theo and that he was given three coins by his mom for helping her. Listen to how he decided to make the best use of his coins. This is read by Tia.

Tip from our staff: Take out some coins from your child’s piggy bank as you sit and listen to this story with them. It will help bring the story to life and show them that this is more than a story, it’s something they can use in real life!

The Deal of the Day - read by Yolanda

This story is for our little members ages 7 and up. In it Jamie and his Grandpa are shopping and Jamie learns that a deal on something he wants to buy might not be such a good deal after all. Kids will learn why it’s best to stop, think, and ask questions before buying. This is read by Yolanda.

Our little members will learn that “Buy One Get One Half Off” deals try to get you to spend more than you planned to. It also teaches that “Limited Supply” or “Buy Now” might make you rush to buy before you can even think if you really need it or not.

Tip from our staff: When you are shopping and your little one is with you, use sale signs and promotions that you come across as a teachable moment. Ask them if they think you should buy more than one item on sale if you only came to the store to only buy the one item you needed. Look for other teachable moments when out shopping.

Reaching for the Stars - read by Thaedra

This story is for our young members age 10 and up. In this story Nina learns that not she can find safe and appropriate ways to make some money all by herself so she can save to buy something very special - a telescope so she can continue learning about outer space! This is read by Thaedra.

Our young members will learn how taking on small jobs help them learn responsibility, time management and the pride in buying something with their own money that they worked hard to earn.

Tip from our staff: Be sure to talk to your kids about the types of little jobs they can take on that are safe, realistic for their skill set and age, and most importantly parent approved!
